easy wood projects
Last week we took a well earned break from sanding chairs and ventured out to David Haigs workshop at Cable Bay. Apart from the views our reason for going was to see something which had recently been described as a masterpiece. David sure didnt let us down, the masterpiece was a Walnut Writing Desk. As David told us The Desk is a commissioned piece crafted from some very special Walnut which he milled over fifteen years ago.
The Walnut Tree which contained 7 nails (1 more was found by the bandsaw) was leaning precariously over a shed up in the hills outside Nelson when David found it.
